Gathering of the descendants of
« Jacques Richer dit Louveteau » of America
(June23, 2010)
On Saturday July 2, and Sunday July 3, 2011 a reunion of the descendants of the « Richer dit Louveteau » of America will take place in Montreal. Our common ancestor, the first Richer to come to America from Louvetot, France, Jacques Richer and his wife Marie Geoffrion, binds us together in so many ways, one of which we hope, will be a celebration that we are planning for you, your family, and your friends.
We will recreate for you the arrival of Jacques in his new country by recounting his life, his joys, and his hardships. We will introduce you to his children. We will have you visit the areas linked to the Richer family: Pointe-Claire, Ste-Geneviève, St-Benoît, St-Eustache, etc.
Charts will be created to enable you to identify your family tree which links you to other participants. You will be able to share your own ancestry with others through discussion, photographs, and other objects, which illustrate the life of your ancestors.
We will take this opportunity to launch the first dictionary of the Jacques Richer descendants in America.
Some Richer family members and their friends, have been planning a concert, shows, and meals; memorable events presented right on the premises where your ancestors have lived.
Some well known Richer descendants have been invited to join us, and their participation will be confirmed in one of our next communications.
Please take this opportunity to visit Montreal in July where numerous activities are taking place, notably, the famous Montreal Jazz Festival. Plan to enjoy Montreal’s famous restaurants, architecture, and night life.
We will keep in touch regularly during the time leading to the event, to inform you of other details pertaining to our program.
Each event will be held in both English and French.
Talk to your family about this meeting and send them a copy of this e-mail.
Is this of interest to you? Let us know before the end of June 2010, and if possible, give us a count of those who will accompany you. The importance of the event depends on the number of participants.
In anticipation of hearing from you soon, three “Richer dit Louveteau”:
Lyse Richer from Montréal, Louis Richer from Québec City, and François Richer from Shawinigan.
